In addition to activities focused at the dorm or sponsored by
the city of Boston for the public, Boston Ballet plans larger
optional weekend outings for all students. The tickets are
pre-purchased through the Boston Ballet. Members of the residence
staff attend the activities as chaperones and if required,
transportation is arranged. Weekend outings vary in artistic and
cultural context. Activities are optional, and on a first
come-first served basis, so apce is limited. Fees for the Weekend
Activities range from $45 to $80 per ticket. Students have the
opportunity to go on any or all of the eight exciting weekend
activities. Activities include:
• A day trip to Provincetown on Cape Cod to experience
a culturally diverse town and visit one of the National Seashore's
beaches
• An uproarious performance of the whodunit comedy,
Shear Madness, in Boston's theater distict.
• Performances by Nederlands Dans Theater, and Dancers
of the Royal Danish Ballet at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in
the Berkshires
• The exciting and always original Blue Man Group
performance in the theatre district of Boston
• A fun and informative tour of Boston in an authentic
World War II amphibian vehicle, called the "Boston Duck Tour"
• A thrill-filled trip to Six Flags New England, where
students have the opportunity to ride two newly unveiled
rollercoasters
• A Dinner Cruise at the end of the program allowing
students time to spend with new friends they will make in the
program
