        Parent Seminars

Boston Ballet School's Parent Association launched a new series of seminars designed especially for our parents in fall 2009. The seminars were established to help address topics of relevance for parents and young dancers.

Boston Ballet School invites you to a seminar designed especially for the parents of our youngest students: An Educational Journey through the Children’s Program with Luciano Aimar

Children’s Program Head, Luciano Aimar leads a discussion to familiarize families with the journey their child will take through the Children’s Program, including the transition into the Classical Ballet Program. This informative seminar will focus on the exciting step from Primary to Elementary 1, including details around the audition process for Boston Ballet’s Nutcracker.  Parents gain a broader understanding of the curriculum including the developmental milestones and educational benefits achieved through a dance education at Boston Ballet School, plus learn “what to expect next year!”

Mr. Aimar, is a former professional dancer with the Ballet Theatre I’Ensemble, Brussels, Belgium directed by Micha van Hoecke, where he danced for more than 7 years.  An accomplished educator, he joined Boston Ballet School’s faculty in 2005 and was named the Children’s Program Head in 2009.  He has worked closely with Boston Ballet School Director Margaret Tracey in creating the curriculum and training the faculty. He also teaches numerous classes within the program.  Mr. Aimar holds a Masters Degree in Dance Therapy from the Centro Regionale per la Danza Terapia, Maria Fux, Florence, Italy.

Childcare for children ages 3+ (who are already toilet trained) will be provided by BBS staff and advanced level students.  Activities may include arts and crafts and/or a rated G movie.  For the safety and security of all children, parents/ guardians will be asked to sign a waiver and will be required to check out their child at the end of the parent seminar.

        Parent Seminar Dates and Locations:
        Marblehead: March 26 at 5:30pm
        Newton:  March 27 at 6:00pm
        Boston: March 31 at 1:15pm

Please RSVP to schoolevents@bostonballet.org with Parent Seminar in the subject line and include your name, which seminar you will be attending and number of attendees in the body of the email.  The seminars are presented by Boston Ballet School's Parent Association.
