Students enrolling in Boston Ballet School’s year round program attend classes September through June. Curriculum includes technique, pointe, variations, separate men’s classes, modern, character and Pilates. Through career preparation and professional development seminars, students are mentored in their next steps in a dance career or higher education.
Upper-level students may have opportunities to perform with the Company, and all students perform in our annual Next Generation performance at The Boston Opera House, home to the Company.
Boston Ballet School offers Summer Dance Program, a summer intensive training program in classical ballet with a comprehensive curriculum designed for the serious ballet student. This program welcomes international students ages 15-19. SDP offers aspiring pre-professional students five to six hours of dance classes per day taught by our international faculty, with a focus on the development of classical ballet technique. A residential program is available for the summer program.
Summer Dance Program students are selected by audition only. Our audition tour takes place for five weeks each winter. Video auditions are also accepted. Visit www.bostonballet.org/SDP for more information.
