        Pre-Professional

        Pre-Professional Program

The Pre-Professional Program is designed for select students in pursuit of a pre-professional training experience. Curriculum requirements include technique, pointe, variations and separate men’s classes, as well as modern, character and Pilates.

Through career preparation and professional development seminars, students are mentored in their next steps in a dance career or higher education. Students attend classes at the Company headquarters in Boston’s historical South End neighborhood.

Customized academic and residential options are available through various partnerships with area academic schools and residencies.

Boston Ballet School partners with the best dance medicine professionals in New England.  Our wellness consultants have been carefully chosen because of their specialized skills in working with young dancers.  Visit our Student Wellness page to learn more about our recommended professionals.

Interested applicants must attend an audition—prospective students will be recruited from BBS’s Classical Ballet Program as well as from around the world. The next group audition will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 5-6:30pm.  Email school@bostonballet.org to pre-register.  Merit scholarships and/or financial assistance available through an application process.

BBS is approved to host international students, school administration assists with student’s visa application.
