THE INTENSIVE PROGRAM CURRICULUM
An extension of the Classical Ballet Program, Boston Ballet School's Intensive Program offers select students increased class time and mentoring in their pursuit of a professional career or higher education. The program is offered at the Intermediate and Advanced levels, with the most advanced classes limited to the Boston Studio location. Beyond the core curriculum, students attend enrichment classes in other forms of dance, including character, jazz and modern. Additional core strength and conditioning work is available through Pilates classes, Gyrokinesis and Bodycode instruction. Separate men's classes are offered starting at the Advanced 1i level.
Levels offered vary in each studio. Each section is limited to 22 students.
Enrollment in the Intensive Program is based upon recommendation of Boston Ballet School's principals. Only students who are physically able, technically qualified and uniquely dedicated to a rigorous course of study will be recommended for Intensive Program placement. Progress is monitored closely with a year-end evaluation assessed by the student's teacher and studio principal.
Graduates of Boston Ballet School's 2008 class destinations include: Boston Ballet II, Cincinatti Ballet, Ballet Austin, Carolina Ballet, Richmond Ballet, North Caroline Dance Theatre, Pennsylvania Ballet II, Hamburg Ballet, Boston College, Harvard University and Stanford among others.
