Boston Ballet’s 2008-2009 season will run between August 2008 and May 2009. The Company will perform five programs of both classical and contemporary works at the Citi Wang Theatre as well as our annual Nutcracker season at the Opera House in Boston. In addition, the company may be featured in some touring engagements. Boston Ballet is an AGMA contracted company.

About Boston Ballet II (BBII)
Boston Ballet II is the exciting pre-professional program in residence at Boston Ballet. Under the direction of Bonnie Mathis, members of BBII are young dancers of outstanding ability who are challenged to improve artistically and technically so they may reach their full potential. BBII dancers are trained in their own daily ballet class, as well as taking class with the company.

BBII members have the opportunity to gain professional exposure and train with Boston Ballet’s artistic staff and artistic director, as well as with guest choreographers and directors from distinguished American and international companies.

To continue their development in dance, BBII dancers are also required to take classes with the Boston Ballet Center for Dance Education, whenever free from company rehearsals or obligations. BBII offers invaluable professional experience by performing its own programs and by touring to schools throughout New England and appearing in the Young Audiences of Massachusetts program: an exciting series designed to introduce ballet to new audiences and develop audience appreciation for ballet as an art form. An indispensable and important part of their training is to gain performing experience by understudying and appearing regularly with the Boston Ballet.

BBII members receive a weekly stipend, full health and dental benefits, and a full shoe allowance. They also have access to Pilates and Gyrotonics training, as well as the Company’s full-time physical therapy staff.
